Labor Bank Operations
Mike joined Bank of Labor in 2016 after a 40-plus year career in the electric utility industry. Mike has an extensive background in energy project development as well as industrial project management and was one of the country’s first energy marketers after deregulation of the electric utility industry. Additionally, Mike spent over ten years of his career managing relationships with organized labor, planning, maintaining and constructing large industrial energy projects. Mike leads the overall strategic and tactical direction for labor banking activities and serves as the Chairman for the bank’s Labor Advisory Board.
Mike is a retired Army Colonel having served over 35 years in both active and reserve capacities as an Army Pilot. He finished his Army career in 2011 as the Chief of Staff of the United State Army Accessions Command and the Military Post at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Mike is a graduate of Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Minor in Business Management. He is married to Vickie, his wife of 42 years and together they have three grown children and seven grandchildren. Mike and Vickie reside in Birmingham, Alabama.
Bridget has a 25 plus year career in labor. She joined Bank of Labor in 2014 as Senior Vice President of Labor Market Development, and leads the Washington, DC Bank of Labor office, provides marketing solutions and union business development. Prior, she was Director of Government Affairs for the Boilermakers Union was a lobbiest and PAC Director. In 2003, Bridget was promoted to Special Assistant to the International President, making her the highest-ranking woman in the union’s history.
Bridget serves on multiple boards of the National Consumers League, Labor 411 Foundation, Community Services Agency of the Metro Washington Council, AFL-CIO, Trustee to the Pharmaceutical Labor Management Industry Association, a liaison to Union Plus, and union member. She was appointed by the American Council for Young Political Leaders as a representative in Romania, appointed by Secretary of Labor Elaine Choa to serve on a Minimum Wage Commission in American Samoa, and as the Democratic National Committee’s labor liaison during the 2000 presidential election.
Bridget holds a Master’s in Government from Johns Hopkins University, a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Economics with a Minor in Environmental Science from Virginia Tech University and an Associates from Virginia Western.
Mike joined Bank of Labor in 2019. He formerly served a co-founder and Deputy Director of the Union Sportsmen’s Alliance, a non-profit conservation organization that serves the AFL-CIO and its members. Mike served as a liaison to the USA Board of Directors, developed and led Corporate Partnership efforts and was part of the strategic management team that set the direction for the organization. Prior, he had an extensive career in sports and entertainment marketing consulting on behalf of companies including Home Depot, Sears, UPS and Anheuser-Busch. Mike has a passion for bringing a client focused approach that delivers immediate value to his partners and long-term value to the Labor movement.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing with a concentration in Economics from the University of Kentucky. He and his wife of 24 years, Jerri, have four children and reside in Nashville, TN.
Linda joined Bank of Labor in 2019 and has 35+ years of commercial banking experience with a focus on consultative banking, primarily in commercial lending and treasury services. As a lifelong Relationship Banker, Linda has expertise working and consulting with entrepreneurs and family owned businesses.
Over the last 13 years, Linda was a Senior Vice President and Relationship Manager with Missouri Bank and Trust Company of Kansas City (Mobank) and was responsible for developing business and portfolio management for middle market sized commercial businesses. Linda was also responsible for the SBA lending function and served as an approver on the Bank’s Loan Committee. She was also a member of the Senior Leadership team focusing on the strategic development of the bank.
Linda received her bachelor of science in Accounting from Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. She is currently the Secretary of the Downtown Kansas City Community Improvement District, Board Member of the Downtown Council of Greater Kansas City, current member and past President/Board Member of CREW Kansas City (Commercial Real Estate Women), Board Member and Past President of State Line Service League. Linda has been married to her husband, Brad, for 34 years and is a lifelong Kansas City resident.
Joe has a 25-plus year career in commercial banking experience including relationship development and asset management and 10-plus years’ experience as an Independent Investment Advisor. His proven track record has provided funding solutions for union-owned and occupied real estate including the states of Texas, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Alaska, Washington State, Iowa, Rhode Island, California and Arizona.
Joe’s range of expertise spans from union-built commercial real estate development to driving funding strategies, utilizing tax credits and other incentives. Joe brings extensive expertise using responsible and sustainable energy investments, including work with solar and hydro commercial operations and community energy projects.
Business Development Officer
Matt joined Bank of Labor in 2008 and has a 12-plus year career in banking. Matt specializes in the unique commercial banking needs of unions, including depository services, treasury management, lending, investment management and custodial services.
Matt serves as Vice President of the United Mine Workers of America Local 4242. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Baker University, a Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in banking and finance from William Jewell and is a graduate of the Labor Management Program at Rockhurst University. He is married to Celine, his wife of nine years, and together they have two sons.
Trent joined Bank of Labor in April 2017 and brings 17-plus years of financial experience. Trent’s extensive experience includes investment advisory services, banking, training, and management. Trent takes a solution-based approach with his clients focusing on their financial goals and objectives. As a business development officer for the Southeast, his mission and passion are aligned with organized labor and those business opportunities that generate jobs, hours worked and an increase in market share for the labor movement. Trent holds his Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Tennessee – Chattanooga.
Heather joined Bank of Labor in 2011 and has 18-plus years in banking including mergers and acquisitions, wealth management, commercial banking and loan procurement. Prior, Heather served as Special Assistant to the International President with the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers. Heather brings experience in her ability to cultivate and maintain valuable business relationships and recognizes opportunities for unions to reach their goals. Heather is a member of Boilermakers Local 1 and is the bank’s Chairman of the Illinois Labor Advisory Board.
Alicia joined Bank of Labor in 2015 and is committed to developing proven opportunities to drive union success. Formerly, Alicia worked for the United Steelworkers of America, the Coalition of Black Labor Trade Unionist International and Europ Assistance U.S.A. Alicia has a 7-year background in marketing and business development, bringing knowledge of long- and short-range strategic initiatives to the bank.
Alicia has a long history with her family’s labor involvement at CWA Local Union meetings and CBTU meetings and she is a member of the United Mineworkers of America Local 4242. Alicia received her Bachelor of Science in Fashion Marketing at the Art Institute of Philadelphia.
Ernesto joined Bank of Labor in 2014 and has a 5-year career in consumer banking, depository services, treasury services, and union banking. Ernesto began his career as a teller before working in the Washington, D.C. office and then transferring to the Treasury Services Department, where he became the youngest serving supervisor at the bank. His proven work ethic and passion to genuinely help working families are aligned with the values of the labor movement.
Ernesto is a Bachelor of Science candidate in Finance with a Minor in Real Estate at Ottawa University.
