Today we mourn the passing of our good friend, colleague and Bank of Labor Advisory Board Member, Patrick D. Finley.
Pat served as the General President of the Operative Plasterers’ and Cement Masons' International Association since January 1, 2007, and was an elected member of the AFL-CIO Executive Council at the AFL-CIO Convention in 2008. Pat began his career with the OPCMIA in 1979 when he joined Local 592 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Bank of Labor CEO Newton Jones praised Pat’s contribution to labor, “Pat was a statesman and a bold leader. He once remarked of unionism that, 'A trade union is like a bank. If you expect to get anything out of it you must put something into it. No union can honor the drafts of a member on its support, its confidence and its moral backing unless that member gives to the union his support.' For more than 35 years, Pat lived by these words.” Bank of Labor Advisory Board Members extend their deepest condolences to Pat’s wife, Bobbie, and their two daughters. Pat will be sorely missed.
